THE FRIENDS OF WIMBORNE MINSTER—The Cuthburga Lecture will be given by Professor John Blair of The Queen’s College, Oxford on Saturday 6 September at 2.30 p.m. at the Minster.  His subject will be “St Cuthburga’s contemporaries: The holy cousinage and English society in the monastic golden age”.  Tickets £5 from Church House or at the door.  Tea in the Parish Room afterwards.

 
     
 

DIOCESAN MASS WITH LAYING ON OF HANDS - for people with disabilities, their families and friends at Plymouth Cathedral 3.00 pm on Sunday 7 September.  Refreshments afterwards.  See poster for more details.  Sign the list in the Hall porch if you would be interested in transport to this Mass.

 
     
 

INTERFAITH DORSET EDUCATION AND ACTION -The 2008 Conference will be held on Monday 15 September 9.00 am until 1.30 pm at Bournemouth University.  The theme is “United We Act”.  If you would like to attend please let Fr Noakes know.

 
     
 

RCIA: COMPANIONS ON THE JOURNEY - How do we involve the parish in accompanying people on their journey of faith into the Catholic Church?  Those who would like to attend an evening on this topic at Holy Trinity Parish  Centre, Dorchester, on Monday 15 September 7.00 pm-8.30 pm should let Fr Noakes know as soon as possible.

 
     
 

YOUTH QUIZ - The Youth Quiz organised by the Knights of St Columa will be held on Friday, 19 September at St Mary's, Poole starting at 7.30 pm and finishing by 10.00 pm latest.  Prizes for winning teams and refreshments available.  Let's hope that St Catherine's will send at least one team.

ADMISSIONS TO ST PETER'S SCHOOL - Two evenings have been arranged, a meeting for parents only on Monday 15 September at De La Salle Theatre, St Peter's School, Southbourne at 7.00 pm (Library) for 7.30 pm and an Open Evening for parents and children on Thursday 2 October at St Peter's School, Holdenhurrst Avenue, Iford 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm.  The Head teacher writes that “if you wish to be considered for a place for your son or daughter it is essential that you attend”.

 
     
 

150TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR CATHEDRAL IN PLYMOUTH - Anniversary Mass 12 noon on Monday 22 September.   There will be two or three tickets available for each parish.  If you would like to attend please contact Fr Noakes.
