A Day with Mary (based on the message given at Fatima) – Sat 30 August, Downside Abbey, Somerset, 10am-5.30pm. Procession, Exposition, Sermon, Benediction, etc. More details on poster.

‘Called to Serve’ 2008/2009 – programme of eight 24-hour residential sessions for pastoral assistants, administrators, or anyone who might like to grow into a parish role. Starts September. See poster.

Lourdes Reunion at St Anthony’s – Friday 5 September, Mass at 7pm, followed by a shared supper in the hall (please bring a plate of food). This is for anyone who has been to Lourdes and anyone who would like to go in the future. You are invited to bring photographs and memories! The date of the next annual Diocesan Pilgrimage is 22-29 May, 2009; it is very well organised and includes all the main pilgrimage activities. Full board accommodation is arranged in a hotel a short distance from the Domaine. Disabled pilgrims are especially welcomed and catered for. More info from Jane O’Brien '693196.

Annual Bro Lionel Fund Sponsored Walk – for 'Reaching the Unreached' (a charity helping orphans in India), takes place on Sunday 7 September, 12 noon from St Mary's, 12.30pm from Poole Park. Walk is about 5 miles. Contact John Duffy at St Mary's parish for details.

Diocesan Mass and Laying on of Hands– celebrated by Bishop Christopher Budd, for people with disabilities, their families and friends. Sunday 7 Sept, 3pm, Plymouth Cathedral. See poster.

Centenary of the Catenian Association – There will be a Mass in the historic Christchurch Priory, believed to be the first Mass since the Reformation, on Sunday 21 September at 3pm. See poster.

150 Voices! – Event for young people, Saturday 4 October, celebrating the 150th anniversary of our cathedral. Liturgy at the cathedral with Bishop Christopher; workshops and activities at St Boniface College; Mass and CJM concert at St Peter’s. A real celebration of what it means to be a young Catholic today! Our Golden Jubilee – The Church of St Anthony of Padua was solemnly blessed and opened by Bishop Cyril Restieaux on 13 May 1959. Bishop Christopher will lead the celebrations in May 2009. Mark diaries now!
